I love St. David's day, it always makes me feel patriotic, even if I'm going through a phase of wanting to move far, far away March 1st always reminds me how much I love Wales, especially some of the fantastic places in North Wales. It just makes me feel super proud to be welsh.
I remember having a little Eisteddford's in my primary school, we would all wear little welsh outfits and sit in the hall watching the students folk dancing, perform short plays and singing songs. We'd have competitions on whose was the best and we'd write poems or create art in hopes of getting a prize.
I didn't win anything in any of those Eisteddford's and we had one every year! I remember having one in my high school though, I don't know why we didn't have any more. I think I was in year 8 or 9 but my friends and I performed a dance and we got 3rd place!
Another thing I love about March the 1st is that is always been the first sign of Spring for me, the daffodils and snowdrops are all out in bloom and soon enough the trees and flowers will start budding.
