I've been really good at waking up early this past week, I'm not sure if it will last but I've been loving it. I've been setting my alarm between 8 and half past. Usually I'm the one to press snooze, end up turning it off and sleeping in bed for hours on end.
I LOVE mornings. I used to despise them because I would always associate them with school or college, and I would relish in my lie-ins on the weekend. Ever since I left college though my life has been a series of lie-ins. I would go to sleep at 3am and then wake up at 11am (but it's usually nearer the midday mark I've got to be honest.)
I want to try and get back my mornings though, because I adore them. I don't know what it is but I love the peacefulness of them. I love watching the sunrise and hearing the birds sing. I don't quite like waking up if I haven't had any sleep mind you!
So this past week I've been doing quite well, the latest I've slept in is until half 9, which I'm still quite proud of because it isn't 12.
I wake up at about 8 ish and I usually listen to some music to wake myself up a bit, this is the time I usually scroll through social media to catch up on what I've missed the 8 hours or so I've been asleep (there's usually a lot because everything seems to happen in America). I then make my way downstairs at about half 8/9 and make myself a cup of tea because there is nothing better than a cuppa in the morning.. Or at any time of the day..
Then I have the entire day to do as I please, it makes me feel like the day is longer too. Yes I'm going to sleep earlier than I'm used to, but there's nothing to do at 2am in the morning except for social media and Netflix. By waking up earlier though I feel like I can do a lot more and it makes me feel a lot more productive.
Let's just hope this lasts and I'm not back to my unhealthy sleeping habits any time soon!
