WILD

All I have listened to since it was released is WILD by Troye Sivan, it is amazing and it's quickly become my favourite! I'm not saying that because I adore the boy, I'm saying it because it truly is an incredible mini album.

I loved his first EP TRXYE don't get me wrong, but I feel like Troye's taken a huge step up with WILD. Everything about it feels a thousand times better, especially the song writing. I feel like Troye has grown a lot over the past year and you can clearly see that in his music.

Every song on this album is gold! Ease has definitely got to be one of my favourites though. It features Georgia Nott from New Zealand duo Broods. The lyrics and the way their voices blend together make it fantastic.

DKLA is another one of my favourites, it's an acronym for Don't Keep Love Around and it features Tkay Maidza who is an Australian rapper. This song is great but the addition of Tkay makes it even better.

I sort of want to keep going listing my favourite songs, but then I'll probably end up just listing the entire album because I love every song.

Also, can we just take a minute to appreciate the marketing campaign that WILD had. Everything has been on social media with no kind of traditional advertising. He first kicked off the campaign by reducing his social media icons and layouts circle by circle until there was nothing left. Which then turned into radio silence, where he avoided every social media known for a week (I definitely don't have the will power to do that!) After WILD was finally announced there was new content every two days, whether it was artwork, lyric excerpts or music teasers. I think it's just a really different way to promote something, it also keeps the fans on their toes and really involved too! It's considerably better than a normal way to advertise with a few posters here and there or releasing a couple of songs beforehand.

The Blue Neighbourhood trilogy is a series of music videos that accompany WILD. The trailer has been released and so has the first installation. The storyline for these videos is really important for the LGBTQ community. It shows two young boys who grow up as best friends which later turns into lovers. It shows in the video that one of the boys dad's doesn't approve of this at all. I think Troye's videos will reach those families that don't approve of their children and show them that their disapproval could ruin their children's life.
The second part is yet to be released and I seriously can't wait to see it. I'm so impatient!!

Everything about this era of Troye's is just so aesthetically pleasing too especially the artwork and the design of the album. I really think this is going to be a turning point for his music career.

I'm really excited to hear the rest of the music he's planned to release this year!
