I'm not particularly sure I'm doing the Halloween thing this year, which sucks because I adore Halloween. But I've yet to make any plans, so if I do I'm going to be super low key about the whole dressing up thing. I haven't got weeks to be thinking about the perfect outfit. So here are some costume ideas for those of you who have time to create the perfect look, and those of you who might have no plans until the day of Halloween.
1. Zombies. This is always stuck in my head every year when I'm thinking of costumes, which is probably thanks to my love of The Walking Dead. But you can get some old clothes and rip them (or go to charity shops and get clothes for cheap) cover yourself in blood and make your face look insane with some make up and liquid latex.
2. Broken/Craked Porcelain Dolls. This was my idea for last year, it didn't go as great as I hoped it would have but I loved the outfit anyway. I think it would have been better if I spent a bit more time on it, I literally spent 10 minutes drawing cracks on my face before I left the house. I just got a cute dress to wear with tights and heels (flats if you prefer!) and I drew cracks on my face with a mix of eyeliner and face paint. I also made some of the cracks thicker so it looked like I had holes in my face.
3. Cats, Bats etc. This is one of the easy easy options. Buy an all black outfit, jumpsuits are good option. And then either buy cat ears and paint a nose and whiskers on your face or buy a mesh looking cape so you have some wings. I also found a really nice masquerade looking mask on asos, it wouldn't necessarily be an actual outfit but pair it with some Halloween themed eyes and a deep, dark lipstick and you'll look fab.
4. Witches and Wizards. Faries and Mermaids. I love all the mystical stuff, if I were to dress up as something like this I would put as much glitter as I could into it. I don't think I would do a 'scary' witch either. I think I'd leave the scary to all of the blood and gore. I was actually going to do a mermaid thing last year. I had the colourful hair and I was going to create scales on my face using rainbow make up.
5. Another idea is going as a skeleton. I'm sure you could pick up an actual outfit online somewhere. Or if you wanted to get creative you could paint an old all black outfit with white bones. I love this idea mainly for the make up. You could either do a 'Tate from AHS/The guy from the Born This Way music video look' or you could make the bottom half of your face a skeleton type thing by using black and white make up.
6. The last idea is either a vampire or a werewolf. I think I would tone this down too, I'd maybe get contacts with werewolf kind of eyes. Or blood red ones for a vampire. I'd then wear something fancy and really dressy. Every time I think of vampires and werewolfs I have this idea that they're always rich. I mean they've lived for ages so you'd soon start collect all of that money!
It would have been easier to show you what I mean with pictures rather than trying to explain it but I haven't got any time to try and do a ton of different outfit and make up ideas! Sad face. I hope this comes across with what I'm thinking about in my head though.
