I've been through my fair share of different styles. Clothing and hair especially. One thing that has stayed the same over the years is my music taste. And although I have broadened the horizons and opened myself up to listening to other genres I'm still an emo/scene kid at heart. So here are a few of my favourite bands!
All Time Low
I remmember my friend making me listen to Dear Maria one day after school 8 years ago. I was the one who introduced her into the world of 'emo' and a few months later she was hooked, she had heard of this band from her boyfriend at the time and she knew I would love it as soon as I heard it. She was right. From this day All Time Low became one of my favourite bands. I remember heading into town to buy Nothing Personal and the rest is history. I must have annoyed my family so much, I must have played that album on repeat so much.
Bring Me The Horizon
I got into BMTH after I was suggested Chelsea Smile by a friend, I was looking for new music and that's what he was listening to at the time. I instantly fell in love, okay granted I probably just fell in love with Oli Sykes. But I've loved their music from the very first time I heard them and I've loved every album ever since. BMTH were one of the bands that was always plastered in posters all over my wall and I even did my art coursework on Oli! I was such a fan girl, I kinda still am.
30 Seconds To Mars
This band were the band that really introduced me into rock music, my cousin had shown me other bands like My Chemical Romance and Paramore before but when he introduced me to The Kill I fell in love and I just wanted to hear more. I would listen to Kerrang TV all day in hopes that I would see another 30STM song, but by doing this I fell into the world of rock and emo and it took over my life. Every new direction they've taken their music in, I've loved so much.
Twenty One Pilots
Now these are a new favourite of mine, I saw people raving about Twenty One Pilots for months and months before I finally gave in and gave Blurryface a try. But I didn't love it, it was weird because I liked some of their songs but then I didn't like some of the others. So I tried it again and I actually started to like it. And I've been listening to them a lot in the past few months and I can't get enough! I just love their music style, it's like they don't care which genre they want to be in they're trying everything! I love it.
Music is my favourite thing, and there's loads more bands I can list like You Me At Six, Deaf Havana, A Day To Remember, Biffy Clyro etc etc. But I feel like these four are right up there as my favourites while the rest are just bands I really enjoy.
