On the 9th of September I took my driving test. I started learning how to drive at the beginning of March and it took me well over 2 years to convince myself that I was ready to get into a car and drive it myself. I think I picked the best instructor in the world though, she was so lovely and I really miss seeing her every week.
But good news.. I passed first time! I had 5 minors which isn't too great but at least it wasn't 15 like it was in one of my mock tests a few months prior. I was so nervous the hour before my test but as soon as the examiner was sitting next to me I managed to calm myself down. I still don't know how I did it, I'm the most nervous person I know.
Now comes the expensive part of buying a car. Luckily for me my mum and dad opened a savings account for me when I was younger and told me to keep saving for a rainy day. Well that rainy day is here. I think I only managed to save £1000 from Christmas money over the years. But as soon as I got a job when I turned 18 I started saving loads. I put more and more in there, and now I can afford a really nice car. It was initially supposed to be my funding to go travelling but I really, really want a car now. I'll have to start saving again for a holiday!
Hopefully by this time next month I'll be whizzing down the road in my brand new (well used but brand new to me) car. I think I've found the perfect one and I'll be going to see it soon! I can't wait to spend a few days off taking my friends on road trips to cool places that you probably couldn't get to on public transport. That's if my driving licence ever decides to show up! It's been almost 2 weeks now and there's still no sign of it. I guess it doesn't help that I'm so impatient too.
