St. Tropez Gradual Tan (In Shower) Review

I have always been pale, I'm like a vampire. I'm one of those people that get burnt easily. I either go bright red and then tan the tiniest bit, or I burn and go back to being pale. And as I don't go to any exotic places I'm basically Edward Cullen, without the whole being a vampire and sparkling thing.

So the next best thing is fake tan, I've only ever used fake tan a handful of times but I always reverted back to my natural paleness. I do enjoy being pale, but this year I'm going to London and I just wanted to look like I had a bit more colour on me instead of looking like a ghost. I didn't want to buy one the week before I went and apply it without trying it, just incase it turned out terribly wrong. Otherwise I would be walking around London in winter clothes trying to cover up the disaster. So I've been trying it out over the past couple of weeks instead.

I did some research about fake tans and as I didn't have much experience in that area I thought it would be best to buy a gradual tan instead of an instant tan. I bought the St. Tropez Gradual Tan In-Shower for £14.50 from Boots as I'd heard so many good reviews and my friend swears by it.

So here's how I got on.

I used the whole tube of this product in just over a week, using it everytime I had a shower. I think I got about 5 uses out of it (I lost count! I'm almost positive it was 5 though, like 98% sure).. The first time I tried it I had no change in colour whatsoever, I wasn't expecting much of a change because it was gradual, but I didn't expect to be as pale as I was the day before though.

The next few times it actually did take and I could see myself getting more and more tanned. The only downside is that you can't tell how bad your hands get. Like honestly they looked fine in the shower but as soon as I woke up the next morning my hands had that awful fake tan look to them.

The last application was the best one I think. It actually looked like I had been on holiday and got myself a nice light tan. It has lasted quite a bit too, I applied the last of the product last week and I still feel like I've got a tiny bit of colour to me.

Overall I think this was a good product and I would rate it a 7/10. It does the job eventually and it is streak free! I do think it's a bit pricey for what you get though. I haven't used any of the other St. Tropez products so I can't really comment on the brand as a whole. I feel like this was a good introduction into St. Tropez, although I won't be buying this product again I do want to try the actual fake tan (with that one I definitely would be using a tan mitt!)
