Christmas is my favourite time of the year, it always has been. As soon as Christmas is over I'm waiting for the next Christmas, it's kind of ridiculous actually.. So here are a few things that make up the perfect Christmas.
I love putting the Christmas decorations up, in my house they go up on December 1st (this year we were late!) We try and make the most of it. For the past few years we've got a real tree instead of the plastic one we used to have and I think it's one of the best ideas my dad has ever had. I love the smell of it when I come downstairs in the morning!
Hot Chocolate is another thing I love about this time of the year, I honestly live off it. I drink so much of it it's sort of embarrassing! The Cadbury's hot chocolate and hot milk is THE best thing in the world. Add cream and marshmallows and I'm in heaven.
Christmas shopping! I know what you're thinking.. "But Steph, Christmas shopping is stressful! Why do you love it!?" I really have no idea, but I love taking a trip into town and browsing around the shops looking for the perfect present. Especially when it's getting dark and the huge Christmas tree's are lit up and there are lights decorating the street. It's just so beautiful. I love going to Chester too, having a look around the Christmas market when it's getting dark and the lights are lighting up the little huts, it really makes me feel happy and Christmassy.
The chance of snow.. We don't really get much snow, and when we do it's in either January or February when Christmas is completely over. When it snows on Christmas Day it just makes everything seem so much more magical. We haven't had decent snow in years and I really want it to snow this year, I want to make a snowman!
Would it be cliche to say Christmas Day? I love getting up early in the morning to get downstairs to open my presents, I love it when my nephews come around to open their presents, the look on their faces when they open their presents is the CUTEST. I love sitting around the table with my whole family while we're eating Christmas dinner. And then cozying up on the sofa while we watch the Christmas specials on the TV and maybe a film or two.
