All I have been doing since I got home from work this morning is marathoning the Harry Potter films. Thanks to Sky Movies who have nicely dedicated a channel to Harry Potter!
Harry Potter has always been my favourite film series, I still remember when I first got The Philosopher's Stone on VHS in 2001 or 2002?. (That REALLY makes me feel old!) I remember seeing it as soon as I walked through the door to Tesco and asking my mum for it, despite not knowing what this 'Harry Potter' film was about. I was a die hard Disney fan before that, I would hardly watch anything that wasn't Disney. So you know Harry Potter was going to be special if it drew my attention away from that.
Who knew that one shopping trip when I was 6 would change my whole life!
As soon as I watched the film I got the books, and I started to read them with my mum, more like she read them to me half of the time. As soon as I was old enough to read them properly for myself I went back and read them again.
I think I watched the first film on repeat when I first got it, I don't know if it was because I was 6 years old and I was just amazed by all of the magic and the story or whether it was something completely different. I soon learnt all the words because I watched it that many times, I probably annoyed my mum and dad SO much.
Every time I try and think of a favourite I can never do it! I always end up trying and then I end up listing the entire series! I do enjoy parts one and two of The Deathly Hallows though because there is so much happening and you can't stop watching it. And also the bit at the end of The Chamber Of Secrets when Hagrid comes back and everybody starts clapping for him. Honestly gets me every time.
I can't wait to finally get to the Harry Potter Studios in London, because I'm a huge film buff, so getting to see how my favourite films are made would be the best thing in the world. I want to go in December or January to see it in the snow though, because Harry Potter always reminds me of Christmas for some reason. Plus I really want to see what butterbeer tastes like.
I grew up with Harry Potter. It's been a huge part of my life since I was 6. I'm almost 20. That's 14 years! It's been my favourite film series since I can remember (and book series too). I don't know how my life would have turned out if it wasn't such a huge part of my life, it may sound sad but I think it's taught me some pretty important lessons and sort of shaped me into the person I am today.
I've decided my next tattoo will be something related to Harry Potter too, because I think it's safe to say I'm never going to fall out of love with Harry Potter. There is no chance I'll regret it in the future.
