I had a completely different post lined up for today, but I think I just needed to get this out there.
I keep mentioning this person in my blog posts, Troye Sivan. He's a musician/youtuber/actor/all round great person. I want to write this post today because yesterday he did his very first live show in Seattle and all morning I've just been watching videos of his performance just oozing with pride.
I first came across Troye in 2013 when he posted his coming out video. I kept seeing all of the youtubers I followed at the time congratulating this youtuber called Troye. Naturally I got curious and watched it, then I watched another video, and another, until I'd watched his entire videos.
This was at a time in my life where I was sort of falling apart and hitting rock bottom. Something about Troye's videos always cheered me up though, I knew if I was feeling down or something I could go to his channel and watch his videos until I was feeling better. I genuinely felt like I was being comforted by a friend.
So over the course of the past couple of years, I've grown as a person immensely and I honestly think that Troye was to thank for that. When I watched his Becoming You video, it sort of changed my views on things. I decided I wanted to be happy. Who cares if I'm taller than all of my friends and I want to wear cute heels. Who cares that I'm not that skinny and I want to wear cute clothes. It's given me the confidence I've always wanted. He's such an inspiring person and it actually gave me the motivation to get this blog back up and running again (and actually stick with it this time!)
People that I know in real life don't really 'get' him, but they don't know what he's done for me, Troye's like that one friend you can always count on (and I've never even met the guy!)
I'm just super proud of him and everything he's achieved, I'm a huge fan of the music he's creating and he's only getting better and better. I know how hard he's worked with TRXYE, WILD and Blue Neighbourhood and I'm excited to hear the latter in December this year. As I said, he feel's like a friend so watching him become so successful is insane (in the best way of course!) I can't wait to see him live someday, I know it will be incredible.
I'm only a few months younger than Troye but he's one of the main people I look up to in my life. So thank you Troye for making my life a whole lot better.
Also go preorder Blue Neighbourhood because it's gonna be great.
