London

All I want to do right now is either go back to London for another holiday, or move there entirely. I've fallen in love with the city. The only part I wasn't a fan of was the underground at rush hour.

So.. What did we get up to?

Monday we arrived at 2'o clock. (We would have gotten there earlier if one of our trains didn't get cancelled earlier on in the day. Pretty sure my friend and I have the WORST luck when it comes to trains. This isn't the first time one of our trains has been cancelled and we've been stranded in an unfamiliar train station. Luckily there was another train going to the same place an hour later.)

After we checked in and got settled, we thought we'd do a bit of shopping on Oxford Street. So after a bit of confusion on what line we were meant to be getting on we hopped on the tube and arrived on Oxford Street. I didn't really buy much, just something from MAC and a LOT of Lush stuff, it took us a while to get our bearings and find the Lush shop but after google maps helped us with what direction we were meant to be going in we finally found it. I was in awe. Three floors and hundreds of products. It was like heaven.

We then went back to the hotel, dropped our stuff off and headed towards Piccadilly to do some sightseeing and get some food. We ended up walking down the entire Mall and eating pizza at almost 11 o'clock at night.

The next day we decided to be tourists, we booked tickets online the day before for three major tourist attractions. The first was The London Dungeons which was great. It's a live action tour through the gruesome history of London, including Henry VIII, The Great Plague of London, Guy Fawks' Gunpowder Plot and Jack The Ripper. I'd definitely do that again, it was entertaining and informative too!

We then headed towards Madame Tussauds, it would have been better if we didn't spend almost two hours in a queue but when we finally got into the main part I really enjoyed myself and I got a lot of pictures with celebrities (probably the closest I'll ever get to those celebrities!) We paid an extra £3 to get to visit the new Star Wars experience too.

In the evening we did the same as the night before, we headed towards Buckingham Palace and ended up staying there for a while taking everything in.. The Queen wasn't there though unfortunately.

The next day was our last day. We checked out of the hotel and hopped on the tube to The London Eye. We upgraded our tickets to fast track tickets because both me and my friend didn't want a repeat of the day before, wasting half our day in queues. It was worth it though because within 10 minutes we were in one of the pods looking out over London.

We spent the rest of the day shopping again before we had to get the tube back to Euston. Unfortunately the tube strike was happening so we had to leave earlier than we wanted to. After a couple of hours waiting around for our train it was time for us to come home.

I've been back for two days and I'm already missing it like crazy. I'll definitely be going back as soon as I can. Who knows, maybe I'll drag my family into London for a couple of days when we next go down to see my uncle in Essex..

(Also the quality of these pictures look awful on here, but if you click on them they look better.. I've been trying to sort it out for an hour now and I've got nowhere so I'm giving up.)
