Summer is finally here! Although, the British summer DOES consist of a couple of weeks of scorching heat that I'm definitely not used to, which usually leaves me complaining about being too hot. And then a few weeks of rain and cloud, which also leaves me complaining that it's not sunny or hot enough. I swear I'll never be happy.
Honestly, in the past week we've had sun, rain, clouds and thunderstorms. The weather can't make up it's mind!
Usually at the start of each summer I say "This summer will be great, I'll do so many things, I won't be bored." and by the time I know it I'm getting ready for Halloween and I've done absolutely nothing but sit on my laptop and watch TV shows for the last few months.
This summer I'm saying exactly the same thing with one exception. I'm finally going to London!
I've only ever been on the outskirts of London as my Grandad used to live down in Essex and we used to visit a couple of times a year but we never got the chance to get into London itself. It's been 19 years of driving past and I'm finally getting there!
So how did this come about you ask? One thing, the Lush shop on Oxford Street.. It opened a couple of months ago and both me and my friend thought it would be pretty awesome to go there for the day, this later turned into a couple of days away so we could make the most of London.
So that's what we're doing. We've booked the hotel for two nights, which means three full days of London shopping and sightseeing and I genuinely couldn't be more excited! I feel like I haven't been this excited about anything since I saw All Time Low back in February, and believe me I was excited. I'm pretty sure my friend wanted to kill me because I didn't shut up about it, now I'm doing exactly the same thing to my mother instead. (Sorry!)
I'm trying to simultaneously budget my spendings for this month and also buy essential items to take with me. I need new clothes and make-up right? The sales that are going on right now are definitely becoming my new best friends.
I'm not leaving my house as much for nights out either because I know I'll end up spending too much! So I've settled for watching TV shows and the BBC coverage of music festivals..
I'm currently watching T in The Park right now. One of my friends is there and I'm pretty envious and mad at him for not taking me with him and trying to sneak me in somehow. I'll get to a music festival one day, just you wait.
